Model study of Vilidian

This is a model study where I wanted to catch the pose and movement. The model is Vilidian (https://www.instagram.com/vilidian_artmodel/). I struggled with this for a while, as the pose was a challenge and I also ended up changing the colour and light values from the origin.

Portrait of Hannah

A small oil painting portrait of actress Hannah Saxby as Pamela in the show Mallory Towers. My daughters watch it and I like the lighting in that show. Painted Alla prima a night in July.

Balancing in backlight

Child balancing in backlight. Based on an image of my daughter, but with completely altered lighting.

Sunflower

A sunflower in these troubled times.

Skull 1

A small oilpainting of a skull, in different lighting. The colours of the light caught my attention and is a contrast to my more muted paintings.

Still life with lemons and orange

A still life oilpainting with some lemons and an orange on my table.

Sometimes I believe it’s good to try and find the interesting in somethign simple, like some friuts. I made sure controlling the light falling on the subject.

Still life with apples and limes

A still life painting / nature morte of apples and limes. I used some controlled light on the subject. This is painted in oil on canvas in a couple of layers.

Portrait of Beatrice in oil

An oilpainting portrait of Beatrice. She is a intriguing model and I think this is a great pose with interesting lighting.

Here I used the Zorn-palette, which is a limited palette. This means I used only Titanium White, Yellow Ochre, Pyrrole Red and Ivory black.

Blue rage

Blue rage, this is an oilpastel I did about 20 years ago. It was inspired by a public sculpture. I liked the movement in the image. I dont have it anymore, so no chance of getting a better photo of it. I’m not sure if you would call it a painting or a drawing?

Study of Bernini sculpture

It was the late 90’s, I needed a creative outlet so I used my airbrush and created this study of the Bernini sculpture “The Rape of Proserpina”. Painted on a thicker paper with airbrush and some water-soluble black and white colours.

This original photo of the image is from the 90’s and a bit low resolution sadly. My original hangs in a doctors office in the south of Sweden, I’ll have to snap a new photo when I visit next time.
